Sonja looked down after seeing her son with the firearm at his side, gently pulling Elizabeth closer to her just for a moment if they needed to take off running from the pack. Watching all the lycans as a few had backed down like Lucian had said, others still debating on what to do with the newly found vampires before them; Do they kill the little vampire family, disobeying their leader? Or do they listen to the man who has saved their lives time and time again? Watching the Lycans finally relax Sonja gently took Lucians’ hand in hers before standing up slowly making sure her daughter was at her side so she could protect her, looking over to her son nodding that it was safe for him at the moment. Her nose gently crinkling as a cold snowflake landed on it, the chill of the flake not bothering Sonja more than she wasn’t expecting it. Seeing the lycans one by one leaving the clearing between the tree lines, knowing her son was safe she allowed him to leave the comfort of the house to meet her lover and best friends. “Jerick my love it’s safe, you can come out to say hello now if you would like to.” Watching her son fidget for a moment seeing his reaction knowing he was very protective of her and his sister she held out her hand for him, “My love it’s okay we are safe, they aren’t going to hurt you I promise.” Jericks’ eyes going from the brown natural color to the blue that the vampires had as he questioned his mother, “How can you be so sure that they won’t attack like the others would have?” Sonja sighed as she looked to her husband nodding knowing he would protect Elizabeth with his entire being, walking over towards the house as she held her hand out to her son hoping he would trust her and take it. Walking back towards the others Sonja noticed her son staying very close to her, as if he was trying to protect her from someone. Trying to reassure her son that nothing bad was going to happen, gently squeezing his arm as if to take the edge off the odd situation. Feeling the sun starting to rise in the east as they walked, Jerick looking to his mother then to the man and woman with his sister. Sonja smiled lightly knowing the sun was about to gently come over the mountain peaks her brown eyes now going to the blue as she looks to Lucian, Luka, and her daughter; “Come let's get inside before the sun comes over the mountains, I don’t need my best friend burning up now do I?” she said with a soft smile. Watching her daughter run back to the house knowing that her two children weren’t bothered by the sunlight like her friend was, seeing them running to seek shelter from the rays as Sonja stood there knowing that Lucian was about to run to her. Jerick ran to open the door for everyone as Luka and Elizabeth ran past him, her daughter giggling thinking that it was but a game of tag. Even though Elizabeth was over two hundred years old, the child still loved the company and the games they could play. Sonja standing there before the sunlight could even touch her skin, feeling a gush of wind now knowing her love was standing there before her as if to shield her from its rays of light; feeling his arms fold around her all she could do was smile. “Sonja what are you thinking!” Hearing his tone she looked up at him, raising a brow seeing the worried look on his face before smiling lightly. “You are going to burn you know this, how can you just stand out here? I just got you back, I don’t want to lose you again.” Hearing the fear in his voice she looked up at him, the small smile she held now fading seeing he was genuinely afraid of her dying again right before his eyes. Sighing as she took a few steps back seeing the rays of sunlight to her right as she smiled lightly, extending her right arm as the light cascaded around it. Looking back to her husband seeing the complete shock plastered all over his face she couldn’t help but laugh, “My love I do not burn like I used to from the suns brilliance, it no longer has a hold over me.” Sonja said so matter oh factly watching, her husband’s reaction going from desperate and terrified as it relaxes, a smile appearing on his face. As they stood their leaves falling from the trees and little snow flurries following the leaves they stood there, silent as if it were a dream a long-awaited dream. Putting a hand on his chest she felt him gently squeeze her hand as if a reassuring gesture that she wasn’t dreaming all of this up, just her imagination playing tricks on her but it wasn’t; this was the reality she wanted, she craved for her husband finally returning after seven hundred and seventeen years later. The following evening as the last of the suns’ rays bounced across the walls of the living room Sonja sat there, a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. Hearing the squalls of giggling from the opposing room to her left as her children showed Lucian and Luka their “Toys”. Shaking her head all she could do is smile and sip her wine, remembering a time way back when. Before she could get too deep into the memory Sonja shut it out, drowning the voice of someone else with a big gulp of her wine. No she wouldn’t think of the past she couldn’t bare herself to think about him, she was happy living her life as she pleased she couldn’t do that to the children; she couldn’t stand to put them in that situation. ‘Will the pain stop if I were to go deeper?’ she questioned herself not only of her past, but of her sanity in that moment. Hearing footsteps she wiped a tear away trying to conceal what her mind was doing to her as she looked up with a soft smile, “Hello my love I hope the children weren’t being to overbearing for you.” she said looking back down to her book trying to hide her blue hues from him. Watching Lucian sit down beside her on the couch she looked over to him his words making her brow peek up, “How long have you been living here in Paddington?” his question making her think for a moment, does she lie to him or tell him the entire truth as to how she's alive and still here breathing. Before either of them could speak Jerick walked onto the threshold leaning casually against the doorway, his gaze moving from Lucian to his mother noticing she was not exactly fine and looking for a way to silence his father's voice in her own mind. Remembering his question Sonja tried to answer him without her voice failing, “We’ve um...” Sonja sat there trying to put it into perspective not only for herself but for her husband as well. Jerick stood there seeing his mother having a hard time trying to explain everything to Lucian, “What if you both wait until you are alone, she can tell you the story then.” looking up to her son Sonja had a small smile of gratitude as if thanking him for saving her for the time being. Nodding his head as Lucian understood looking to his wife, “It’s okay you can take all the time you need, I’m not going anywhere ever again I promise you that my love.” taking her hand and squeezing it gently all Sonja could do is smile, knowing she was safe and that her children would be safe as well.
