Age of Stars Requiem pt.1 Category: Uncategorized
For months now Syn had been allowed to live her life as she
wanted, she had reconnected with her husband and even taken a few others into
her heart, and she had built a life she was content with. No more were the days
of watching others find the missing parts of themselves and create lives while
she simply stood by silently watching over the realm. She had even begun
working to bring back her daughter who currently rested in the moon of Lunaria
waiting to be reborn; much like dear Miquella whose cocoon remained deep within
Mohg’s palace almost all forgotten except Syn thought about her child everyday
and strived to return her to the world of the living. As she sat outside the rv
she called home she wondered why she suddenly thought of Miquella when the
forever child had not crossed her mind in some time. It wasn’t until the
telltale burn started around her throat causing her to snarl in anger. The last
time she had felt this her mother had pulled her away and broken her body.
Fearing it would happen again she scrambled out of the chair and back into the
rv, Ulric was out at the moment and her brain didn’t even think to mind link
him; instead, she grabbed a piece of paper and wrote a quick note. Her hands
were shaking, and tears spilled down her face as she wrote:
Ulric, mother is calling me home and I cannot
resist her summons. I promise I will be back as soon as possible. Please let
Asta and Emii know…
She hesitated on how much to
put as she didn’t know what was going on and instead decided to simply put her
feelings out there:
I love you all so much, I know
this is a shit way to tell you what is going on and if I could stop it I would
but well you know…I don’t know what is going to happen to me, but I swear it I
will come home one way or another. Love you more than the moon~Pup
Shaking her head, she looked around the RV even as the burn
around her throat grew, bright golden runes appearing on her skin, and she
snarled loudly as she stopped resisting and disappeared. Traveling between the
mortal realm and Lunaria was normally pleasant but when her mother yanked her
home like this, she was left with a sickness that couldn’t be explained, but as
soon as her feet touched down on the ground, she doubled over heaving into the
grass below her. When she felt her stomach calm, she groaned again, hanging her
head, she felt her body shifting until she was forced into her semi-wolf state.
Her head disappeared and was replaced by the head of her wolf with fur running
down her spine and to her arms and legs which had shifted into paws tipped with
silver claws. She shuddered as her body adjusted once again and she let out a
sigh as the pain receded, standing to her feet she looked up at the moons that
hung above the lands. The largest of them currently held the soul of her
daughter and she reached out her claws as if she could grasp in and draw down
her daughter when she heard the doors of her mother’s tower open behind her.
Her lip quirked into a sneer as she turned to face the male standing in the
doorway, he looked at her for a moment before stepping aside gesturing for her
to come inside. Llewalm, her mother’s consort
watched as Syn entered the tower and began her walk up the stairs. There was no
love between the two, but they did not hate each other, they simply did not
care about one another so even after witnessing her in such a state he did not
bother to ask if she was okay, and Syn was fine with this. Syn had wondered
what it would have been like to have a father who managed to conquer all and
catch her mother’s eye but after a while she had stopped caring as he simply
lived for her mother and had no interest in the magic child she had created. As
she entered her mother’s study, she kept her eyes down as she moved between the
stacks of books and vials, stopping a few feet away she knelt in front of the
Lunar Queen and simply waited. The door behind her closed and the sounds of Llewalm’s
footsteps could be heard as he moved to sit next to Ranni, Syn was curious as
to why she had been forced home in such a manner instead of simply being asked
to return but she bit her tongue because she knew asking would simply cause her
mother to make her wait longer.
“Mine errant daughter has returned home. Tell me child, do you wish to be freed
from your bonds to this world?” Her mothers’ words came suddenly and without
much preamble that Syn was left speechless for a moment as she processed what had
been said, Syn also knew she had to speak carefully, or she would end up
rebuilt once again and it was the most agonizing process not just physically
but mentally. It was a bit messed up to think that a mother would create a
child simply for her own use and if that child did not fall into her line of
thinking she would remake her until she did. But Syn had long ago come to terms
with her mother’s way of thinking and had no ill will towards her, “I wish to
keep my bonds, but I wish them to be…willing” she replied eventually. Ranni
gave no indication that she was upset about what Syn had said, instead she
looked at her only child watching her carefully. The Lunar Queen was no fool
when it came to her daughters’ feelings, but she also liked hearing her
opinions spoken out loud because as she had said long ago words have power,
especially when spoken by someone created solely out of magick.
After a time in silence Syn began to wonder why she had been
called home, the question had given her no idea about the reasoning, and she
wanted to return to her previous form as this one rode her hard and she tended
to lose herself when she remained this way too long. A soft sigh escaped
Ranni’s lips as she held out one of her hands, Llewalm handed her a scroll
which she opened before speaking “Miquella has remained too long within Mohgwyn Palace. There are dark rumblings that
some sector is seeking to force him out of his egg. Should that happen all I
have strove to create will come undone” As Ranni spoke Syn’s heart began to
race at the implications, if Miquella was forced from his egg his power could
collapse the entire realm in a single shockwave. Without Mohg or Malenia
receiving his blessing his power had been building, her eyes shot up to glare
at Llewalm; he had slew both and simply left Miquella. The male glared back at
her, pure red eyes staring at her from under his helmet, but Syn was not one to
back down from a male, even one who sat at her mother’s side. “Calm your ire
daughter, you as well my consort. Time was racing ahead of us when all came
into play and we did not foreseen the full consequences of what was to come” Syn’s
eyes moved back to the ground as her mother spoke “I apologize mother, I simply
fear for the safety of this realm and all the realms if we do not rectify the
mistake” she bowed her head lower facing Llewalm “Forgive my anger Lunar
Consort” she said through gritted teeth to which she only received a grunt of
acknowledgement.
“Now, I cannot fetch him myself due to the bindings and mine consort cannot as
he is bound to me so the rules apply to him as well. But you my daughter are
pure magic and can bend the rules in place, so I task you with retrieving
Miquella. You must consume as much of his power as you can before returning him
to his home. I arranged contingent of the black knives waiting to guard him as
well as my own enchantments” Standing Ranni moved to the window looking out
over her realm “Do this task for me and I will remove your bindings. Then you
may come and go as you please and take to task only what you wish” Bliss filled
her veins at the thought of not being forced home ever again “I have one
request mother. I wish for my child’s soul to be returned to me. I want to take
her home where I can place her within my body once again to be reborn to myself
and her father…” Syn knew it was risky to be asking for another favor but she
wanted this more than her true freedom and she knew it would make Ulric happy.
Ranni was quiet for a time before she nodded turning to face her child “I shall
return your child’s soul should you complete this task without allowing
anything to happen to Miquella” with that she turned away again dismissing
Synestra. Rising she bowed to her mothers back before leaving the study, she
walked down the steps stopping when the shadows around her quivered and sprung
up revealing a slender male dressed fully in black kneeling in front of her.
“Send a vanguard to Mohgywn Palace, secure it before I get there. You have full
authority to do as needed, no restraint” she said vehemently. The figure nodded
silently before disappearing back into the shadows.
Stepping outside the tower Syn stopped and looked up at the
moon “We will get home soon babygirl…even if I have to tear apart the fabric of
time…we will go home..” she vowed before shifting into her full twenty foot
wolf form letting out a ground shaking howl before taking off to the underground.
